Gumball 3000

The Gumball 3000 is an annual British 3,000-mile (4,800 km) international motor rally which takes place on public roads. It was started in 1999 by Maximillion Cooper and his wife and business partner, Julie Brangstrup

Gumball 3000 combines the worlds of automobiles, music, action sports and popular culture for a unique event that reaches over 100 million households in 60 countries on television and online, and has a combined celebrity social media following of over 100 million followers.

Since 1999

The inaugural rally featured 50 of Maximillion Cooper’s friends travelling from London to Rimini, Italy and back. The route passed through Paris stopping at Chateau d’Esclimont and continued to the Le Mans race circuit. The group then travelled to the Ferrari Factory in Maranello, Ambras Palace in Austria, and the Hockenheim Grand Prix Circuit in Germany before their return to London to cross the finish line on Park Lane, London. The event commenced with a party at the Bluebird club in London attended by celebrities such as Kate Moss, Guy Ritchie and Dannii Minogue before Sir Terence Conran dropped the checkered flag the following day. Cars that took place in this first rally included a British Police car borrowed from the British television show The Bill driven by Alexandra Aitken, a Lotus Esprit and a Lamborghini Diablo.

In May 1999, Cooper invited his influential friends to join him on a driving adventure across Europe, hosting glamourous parties throughout attended by Kate Moss, Jamiroquai, Kylie Minogue and Johnny Knoxville – and immediately gained notoriety gracing the pages of GQ, Esquire and Vanity Fair, as one of « Cool Britannia’s » must-do events.

The Gumball 3000 Foundation

The Gumball 3000 Foundation is a non-profit charitable trust that strives to provide opportunities, optimism and ambition to future generations.

Created in 1999 by British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper, the Gumball 3000 brand has become prolific within popular culture, and by channelling the collective means and influence of its five thousand plus alumni members, the Gumball 3000 Foundation has been established to benefit underprivileged youth through Education, Infrastructure and Environmental projects.

The Foundation will place an emphasis on youth-based projects such as building recreational areas and skate parks in the most deserving of areas, and has carefully selected its high profile trustees to aid such efforts. The Foundation will also utilise its position across multi-faceted medias to relay its endeavours in such a manner that appeals to young people and encourages the notion of getting involved in philanthropic pursuits themselves.

Further to capitalising on a powerful alumni of individuals, the Foundation also aims to work alongside its global commercial partners to assist in their charitable efforts and to guide their respective and considerable philanthropic attentions to causes which Gumball can identify from its unique position as a successful youth culture brand.

The Gumball 3000 Foundation will select partners who share the same values and mission, and meet the criteria for responsible governance, giving underprivileged youths across the world the opportunities they deserve.
