Et, c’est donc l’annonce de la reprise des festivités après une période estivale avant la rentrée lancé en France par Chantilly Arts & Elegance et suivi par le Mondial de l’Automobile. Now! La Monterey Car Week est devenu un événement incontournable du calendrier des passionnés d’automobiles. En plus du traditionnel concours d’elegance, ‘Pebble Beach’, s’est accompagné une augmentation du nombre des ventes aux enchères ces récentes années.
Pebble Beach est situé en Californie. Située sur la côte, au sud de Monterey, Pebble Beach est connue pour son golf et (of course) son Concours d’élégance.

The annual Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance auto show has been held in Pebble Beach since 1950. The event focuses on classic cars, and each year features a particular marque as its focus. In addition to the car competition, there is an auction, a classic car tour, and an automotive art exhibit.
Les différentes classes varient d’une année à l’autre en fonction de l’actualité, pour l’édition 2016, les organisateurs ont décidé de mettre à l’honneur les 100 ans de la marque BMW ainsi que les motos bavaroises et le 50ème anniversaire de la victoire des Ford GT40 aux 24 heures du Mans.
Le concours d’élégance de Pebble Beach se tiendra le dimanche 21 août sur les pelouses du Golf de Monterey.
Outre les expositions statiques, le Concours d’élégance se double d’une démonstration dynamique baptisée Tour d’élégance et qui se tiendra en préambule le jeudi 18 août. Ce Tour d’élégance est réservé aux participants du Concours d’élégance permet d’admirer les belles carrosseries au cours d’une balade de trois heures et de quelques dizaines de kilomètres sur les magnifiques routes californiennes.

Automobile gives us a peek at the 2016 Tour d’Elegance. Initiated to showcase the elegance of the automobile in motion, the Tour also underscores the early history of the place that is Pebble Beach. Decades before golf links were laid out along the edge of the Pacific Ocean, this area was known for its scenic drive, winding for miles through the pine and cypress forest, dancing alongside dramatic cliffs and leading, ultimately, to a beautiful crescent-shaped bay.

D’autres concours d’élégance se déroulent au cours de la Monterey Car Week. Legend of the Autobhan est dédié aux automobiles allemandes alors que le Concorso Italiano met à l’honneur les belles carrosseries italiennes.
Ventes aux enchères
Initialement, les ventes aux enchères se déroulaient en annexe du programme d’animations, elles font désormais parti de celui-ci à part entière.
En quelques années, les ventes aux enchères ont augmenté et le nombre de maisons présentes s’est multiplié.
La Monterey Car Week est souvent le théâtre des enchères les plus ouf et les voitures les plus rares et les plus désirées y sont proposées aux enchérisseurs du monde entier et les ventes se déroulent sur plusieurs jours.

Rolex Monterey Motorsports Réunion
C’est là aussi un événement de renommée internationale et une course de voitures anciennes parmi les plus importantes d’Amérique du Nord.

Si les règlements différentes quelque peu entre les Etats Unis et l’Europe on retrouvera des voitures de Sport et des GT dans différentes classes allant des avant-guerre jusqu’au milieu des années 80. Comme pour le Concours d’élégance de Pebble Beach, les organisateurs de la Rolex Monterey Motorsport Réunion ont décidé de mettre à l’honneur les 100 ans de BMW.

Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and AUTOMOBILE announced today that Michelin will present a livestream of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance on August 21 at 2 p.m. PST. TEN: The Enthusiast Network returns for the second year in a row as the Official Media Partner for the Concours and will broadcast the awards ceremony for free on Motor Trend OnDemand and on the Automobile magazine playlist within MOTOR TREND’s YouTube channel.
On Concours Sunday over 200 of the most beautiful cars ever produced are neatly arranged on the 18th fairway of the fabled Pebble Beach Golf Links. From its inception in 1950, this Concours has grown into a truly international event, with the finest cars brought from all points of the globe to compete for Best of Show, the most sought after prize in the automotive world.

TEN’s International Bureau Chief Angus MacKenzie, American motorsports announcer Bob Varsha, and British race car driver and veteran broadcaster Alain de Cadenet, along with the editors of AUTOMOBILE and MOTOR TREND will serve as hosts for the livestream.
The livestream will include a preshow segment prior to the coveted awards, showcasing some of the most-prized collector cars. With the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance being one of the top-ranking collector car competitions in the world, high-profile special guests and celebrities will be making appearances throughout the broadcast to give commentary, insights, and expertise around the cars and event.

Throughout the week leading up to and during the event, featured Concours d’Elegance content will be provided by AUTOMOBILE on its website, with video aired on Motor Trend OnDemand and on MOTOR TREND’s YouTube Channel. CBS Sports Network will also be airing a one-hour segment of Concours d’Elegance highlights on September 22, 2016 at 8 p.m. EST.

Started by car fanatic Steve Earle, the earliest events were simply Earle and some invited friends bringing their vintage race cars out for a weekend of track time at the legendary Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca. The event gained momentum to become a central feature of what would become the Monterey Car Weekend and then Monterey Car Week. The crowd has gotten much larger since the ’70s, but the list of participating cars has also grown, making this a must-see event for at least one of the four days it runs.
